Steps to Success

Updated 27 February 2013

Success is what each one of us strive to become and it is the ultimate goal behind every human being, no matter what the arena. Each and every one of us wants to be the best at what they do and everyone is striving to maximise their full potential. We all have our own definitions of success whether it is for financial freedom or a mere sense of accomplishment.  All in all a successful individual has always been unconventional. A bit different from the crowd.

In any department, those who have been successful in their field have always been unconventional in the way they think and for them, it has been the crucial ingredient to their ultimate achievement. How can we be different from the crowd and become unconventional? Below are a few steps on how to achieve these using simplistic approaches and get you back to basics.

1. Let go of the past. Act and apply in the present and shape up the future
2. Use negative feedback and criticism to your advantage and better yourself.
3. Do not try. Just do it. Take Risks
4. Have an independent nature. If we rely too much on those around us for assistance and/or support we will be setting ourselves up for disappointment in the future.
5. Determine your peak performance hours and work at a point in day when you feel like you are most effective.
6. Utilise your failures as a guide towards success
7. Eliminate emotions by letting go off the past and thinking about the present. Focus!
8. Use your brain not only your heart. Think for Yourself
9. Don’t let time control you. You control the time
10. Create strategies and build credibility among your peers.
