ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTRE
The centre is busy with lots of events like commemoration of deaths of Imams, celebration of births, Thursday night Duas and Majlises, Friday prayers and 30 nights during the holy of month of Ramadhan. During summer Ja'ffari Islamic Center continues to be a popular choice for engagements and Marriages. 

Youth Wing:
Jaffari Islamic Youth run their own program simultaneously the popular programs are mentoring, Soar (leadership) and bi-monthly youth presentation where they get an opportunity to socialize.

Senior Citizens:
Jaffari Senior Citizen Groups whose objective is to provide a forum for seniors to meet socially and increase their wisdom ties to the children and young of the community. Every year they make trips to park, Niagara Falls and other social together.

Community Lifeline:
The community runs a lifeline support group where counsellors are trained to provide support to those in trouble or despair. Spiritual program are conducted every week.

There are no community bases accommodation provided. 

Jaffari Islamic Housing Corporation (tel: 905- 780-3578 e- mail crescentvillage@primus.ca in Richmond Hill) has a total of 170 units . They have a very high waiting lists which could run to a waiting period of 2-5 years.

Building : Inaugurated in 1978 this solid structure of 16,500 sq ft has the Main floor, offices, basement and Prayer area called "Zainabia Hall".

Bayview Ave: Life on Bayview Ave reflects vast cultural diversity. It is also an area where students from different schools , colleges and universities visit Bayview because at a short distance centres belonging to Jewish, Muslim and Buddist faiths are namely Temple Harzion, Cham Shan Temple and Ja'ffari Islamic Centre.

Accessibility: Ja'ffari Islamic centre is block away north of Steeles Ave. Toronto Transit Commission buses are available from Finch Sub Way which drops the visitors on Bayview and Steeles. The Go buses are directly available to the center. During the program nights the community runs its own shuttle services from Thornhill Community Centre on Bayview /John. Markham transit buses are available to John street as well. Building has the access for the disabled.

Cultural Diversity: Membership is culturally diverse. Our membership come from the different
parts of the world. These countries are India, Pakistan, Tanzania, Kenya,
Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique, Zaire, Mauritius etc. Few of our
members are from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon.

Age Groups: The community has an approximate membership of 850 Families (average family is 4.5), 200 single, 215 seniors and 225 students translating into a total membership of close to 4000-4500 heads. Seniors are 65 and over, single members are 30 and over, Families are 30-65 yrs of age and students and youths are 18-29. 52% are Females 48% Gents.
