Introduction

The World Federation of KSIMC and NASIMCO officials met on Sunday March 21st, 2004 with various Mu`mineen involved in Tabligh [Propagation] work in North America. The meeting was held at the Masumeen Islamic Center, Brampton, ON, Canada.  After deliberations, the officials from both organizations jointly appointed a three member Tabligh Task Force (TTF) to come up with a working paper on how to coordinate Tabligh work in North America.

The members of the TTF are Dr. Hasnain Walji (Dallas, Texas), Shaykh Saleem Bhimji (Kitchener, Ontario) and Shaykh Hasnain Kassamali (Vancouver, British Columbia).

The first task of the team is to gather all necessary information and data on Tabligh activity being carried out by Shi`ah Muslim individuals and organizations in North America. We shall appreciate if you assist us by filling in the following questionnaire.

Definitions (For this Questionnaire)

TABLIGH activity: Any activity that an individual or an organization is carrying out with the objective of educating (ta`lim), explaining (tashrih) and instilling (tarbiyat) the teachings and values of the Islamic Shi`a Ithna Asheri Madhhab (sect) to both the Shi`a Ithna Asharis and the non-Shi`ah Ithna Asharis. (For the purpose of this questionnaire we are looking for activities that go beyond the weekend madrasah, majlises held on various religious occasions and the congregational prayers).

OUR youths/people: the followers of the Shi`ah Ithna Ashari madhhab.

For us to be able to get a comprehensive picture of Tabligh in North America which will better help us to deliver maximum results to each organization and in turn the community and to better chart out our future as Shi`ah Ithna-Asheris living in North America, please fill in the following questionnaire in full.
