On Wednesday 10 August at 8:00PM (BST), Ahlulbayt TV will be airing The World Federation documentary on the Upliftment of Islamic Education in Pakistan. The documentary will look at the state of various communities in Pakistan after the tragic floods in 2010, and how The World Federation is trying to address the several needs of our fellow Muslims, including reviving their Islamic Centres.
The 2010 Pakistan floods began in July 2010 following heavy monsoon rains in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan regions of Pakistan. Estimates indicated that over 2,000 people died and over a million homes were destroyed since the flooding began. The UN estimated that more than 21 million people were injured or homeless as a result of the flooding, exceeding the combined total of individuals affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. At one point, approximately one-fifth of Pakistan's total land area was underwater due to the flooding.
'Please support this noble cause. If each center has an Imam or guide, then there will be true guidance for these communities'. - Dr. Asghar Moledina, President of The World Federation.
Be sure to catch this documentary that will look at what is being done now to continue assisting communities in Pakistan.
