Updated 10 March 2010

This year Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya (BMMK) organised two Husain Day Seminars.

The first seminar was held on Saturday 6 February 2010 at Samburu Secondary School, for students from Primary and Secondary sections of various schools and madrassahs for the 13th consecutive year.  A total of 737 students coming from 23 different centres attended the function.

This seminar was based on the following topics:

1. The historical background which led to Imam Husain’s (as) revolution.
2. How to incorporate Karbala events in our day to day lives.

The first paper was presented by Ust. Hassan Rocky Chuphi of Ronald Ngala Memorial School in which he elaborated on the historical background which led to Imam Husain’s (as) revolution. Ust. Ali Bahero from Madrassah Zahra (Malindi) presented the second paper.

After Zoharain salat an interactive Question / Answer session took place. The lecturers responded to the questions that arose from the audience which made the session live and active.

Br Jaffer Achui presented the vote of thanks. The seminar was officially closed by the head teacher Mr Olando followed by recitation of dua by the students. Niyaz was served.  Free books were distributed to all participants.

The Second Seminar was held on Sunday 14 February 2010 at Mulla Asghar Memorial Hall, Jaffery Academy, Mombasa.  Lecturers were based on ‘Application of Imam Husain (as) sacrifice in our lives today’.
