“We formed a bond of sisterhood within the first few hours we met each other and soon became a closely knit family. No matter where we were from: Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Uganda, Kenya or the UK, together we attempted to gain a small drop from the ocean of knowledge available in the holy city of Qum.”
Sister Shaheen Dhanji of Stanmore (currently studying in Qum)
“Mentoring for the Madinah and Bab Course in 2013 has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life; the opportunities to gain, learn and serve were endless. I thank the Almighty for the chance to have met so many talented and vibrant sisters from different backgrounds and communities around the world. The mentoring experience taught me a great deal about my own personality - my strengths, weaknesses and characteristics - but most importantly I learnt that serving others is in itself a spiritual journey.
To anyone who is unsure about whether the mentoring experience is for them, or who are hesitant about whether they can do it, I assure you that this is a journey of self-development and spirituality in the best of places, and one which you will never regret.”
Sister Zaahida Walji of Stanmore (currently studying in Qum)
“The overall experience of the trip has allowed me to learn about myself and also about others. Moreover what made the trip an even greater experience was having inspirational role models of all ages around me… Lastly to those who are thinking of coming, don’t hesitate, come and experience a truly life-changing experience.”
Alihussein Jaffer of Milton Keynes
