The World Federation and CoEJ successfully organise CPD course on Family Ethics

Updated 23 May 2012

Following previous successful CPD courses, The World Federation and the Council of European Jamaats successfully organised a CPD course on Family Ethics from 27 - 29 April 2012.The course was conducted by Shaykh Mohammed Ali Ismail.

Shaykh Ismail has previously conducted CPD courses on Family Ethics in Europe, Africa and North America, and the courses have been highly appreciated every time, as these quotes indicate:
“I found this course very informative and detailed. It has given me a lot of food for thought. Only wish we had more time.” – Zehra Kesvani

A real eye-opener and a totally different angle to the ‘good-old standard’ material.” – Fatema Asaria

This latest instalment was held at Milton Keynes. A total of eight participants attended. The format allowed for valuable interaction between the tutor and the participants, and also between the participants themselves.

A very informative and detailed course where we were given the space to interact with each other. The course made me think about marriage and family in a completely different way. Can’t wait to share this with my madrasah.” – Rubaina Mulla

The discussions covered topics such as “Islamic Family Mission Statement”, “Duties of Husband and Wife” and “Upbringing of Children”. With a steady foundation in Qur’anic concepts, the course dealt with contemporary challenges in sufficient depth.
“Great insight into Qur’anic perspective on Family Ethics
.” – Nikhat Panjwani

“The Family Ethics course has been a great learning opportunity to understand what our focus for the goals of the family should be. I look forward to put it into practice at home and in my work with expectant and new parents.” – Abigail Salehi

“A very contemporary approach to Islamic Family Ethics in the Western Society. It is very challenging to live in western community and practice your beliefs. This course has provided me with the correct tools to bring up a well-balanced family in a western society.” – Shahiq Mullah

The Chairman of CoEJ Islamic Cultural Affairs, Razahuseinbhai Rahim attended one of the sessions as an observer and had the following to say: “These CPDs  are very useful for all mubhaligheen & madrasah teachers as a useful & focused way of updating oneself & participating in discussions and networking with colleagues. It is a pity that we had a few last minute cancellations and the overall level of take up and was not as good. The feedback from Mubhalligheen annual seminar & participants of these CPDs is that more need to be organised and inshallah it is hoped that we have a much better subscription to the future courses.

Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi, Assistant Secretary General for WF Islamic Education, said: “By the grace of Allah we were able to once again host an excellent CPD which has had a positive impact upon the participants. It was disappointing that more people could not attend. I appeal to regional federations and jamaats to maximize the publicity of these courses.”
