This Ramadhan, the Islamic Education team of The World Federation of KSIMC, in partnership with Q Fatima, held the first ever Quran week. This project was piloted in Birmingham Jamaat, UK, under the regional federation CoEJ. The aim of this pilot project was to assess a Quranic Arabic programme for the community and to provide a positive understanding of the Holy Quran to our youngsters.
The two day session had an excellent turnout. The Islamic Education representative, sister Siddiqa Najafi, provided the organizational and logistical expertise. Participants from the various age groups commented that they learned immensely from the event.
Based on the success of this pilot, The World Federation hopes to hold an international event, ‘Quran Week’, every Ramadhan, Inshallah to begin in 2011.
