Following a number of meetings with Ayatullah Ishaq Fayyaz and his representative and son Shaykh Mahmood, The World Federation learned of the need of copies of the Holy Quran in Afghanistan, where there is a shortage of these amongst the Shia population.
As a result, in the month of Ramadhan this year, The World Federation provided the office of Ayatullah Fayyaz in Qum $12,500 USD to purchase copies of the Holy Quran and transport them to Afghanistan.
Al-Hajj Shan E Abbas Hassam, Secretary General of The World Federation, stated: ‘By the grace of Allah we were able to add value to our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan through providing them with copies of the Holy Quran. It was initially sad to learn that there was a lack of copies of the Quran amongst some Shias in Afghanistan, but through the generosity of our donors we were able to gather and deliver the funds to the office of Ayatullah Fayyaz in Qum, who will now ensure that these Qurans reach the target recipients. I would like to thank the generous donors for making this possible, and I look forward to more such projects where we are able to add value, especially in partnership with the Maraje, may Allah protect them all.’
