On 1 May 2011, the WF Islamic Education team organised a full day of support training for madaris students who will be taking the AQA GCSE this year. The training was conducted by Waheeda bai and Yasin bhai Rahim, who both have experience of teaching the GCSE in Wessex.

The students were trained on how best to revise and respond to exam questions.
Students commented:

Zeeshan from Hyderi: I learnt how to answer each question

Zahra from Hyderi: I learned what to include and how to practice questions

Mohammed-Miqdad from Hyderi: I learnt how to structure my answers using the techniques

Muhammad from Wessex: I found it useful how to do the 6-mark questions

Ahmed from Wessex: It taught us how to answer questions nicely

Zahra from Hyderi: In the exams I know where to pick up marks that I was missing out on before

Aliasghar from Peterborough: I now know how much to write and how to organise my answer

Fatima from Leicester: I plan to use it as material to work on for revision for the exam, and the actual exam itself.

Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi commented, "I would like to thank the facilitators for conducting this and also Hyderi Jamaat and Madrasah for hosting us so nicely. It is important that we continue to support those Madaris engaged with the AQA syllabus."
