ZIYARATS IN JEDDAH

THE GRAVE OF BIBI HAVVA

 
Bibi Havva was made of clay in Jannat by Allah. It was the same clay which remained from making Prophet Adam and means to give life.

When Adam saw Havva, he asked, " Who are you? " and she replied, " I am the makhlooq of Allah ".

Prophet Adam asked Allah, " Who is she? ". Allah replied, " She is my makhlooq. If you want to marry her, what will be her mahar? " Prophet Adam replied, " I do not have anything to give. " Allah said to him ," Her mahar from you will be the Marefat of Allah. You have to teach her the Marefat of Allah".

Hence the first mahar was decided in Jannat. As you know H. Adam and Bibi Havva went near the tree of Maimunua in Jannat which Allah had forbidden. Shaitan (Ibliss) persuaded them to go there and gave them the fruit of that tree. As a result, both Prophet Adam and Bibi Havva were ordered out of Jannat by Allah. Prophet Adam was sent to Lanka in India and Bibi Havva in Jeddah.

They met after thousands of years in Arafat. She had two sons, Habil and Kabil. Habil was a very obedient son. Allah sent 2 angels ( Hurr ) from Jannat named Unzela and Munzela for Habil and Kabil to marry.

Bibi Havva is buried in Jeddah.
