ZCSS educating 5610 students

Updated 17 August 2011

Over 5,600 students are receiving an education through The World Federation of KSIMC’s Zainabiya child sponsorship scheme in 24 different schools.

The programme currently sponsors 5,311 students in primary education while 299 students are being sponsored to complete their secondary education. Many of the schools are based in remote villages such as Khujwa a village in India’s poorest state Bihar.

Shan-E-Abbas Hassam, Secretary General of The World Federation mentioned, “Poor access has kept rural villages in Bihar highly under developed.  Many families still live in mud houses and breadwinners find the only way they can feed their family is to work long hours in manual jobs.”

He added, “By funding a school in Khujwa, The World Federation have set the foundation to transform a village whose current working generation did not get access to an education into a village where many children have the opportunity to go to school. We thank our donors for the continued support as it has had a lasting, positive impact in the lives of these deserving children.”

However Khujwa in Bihar isn’t one of a kind, every one of the 24 schools is in a remote part of the world, where education is a treasured dream for the children who either work in child labour or on family farms.
Everyone deserves a quality education yet right now 69 million children and 774 million adults are missing out. The World Federation’s Zainabiya child sponsorship scheme is part of the solution with its annual budget of £500,000 is stretched among 5,610 students.

Currently it costs £120 to sponsor a child through a year of primary education, which means a monthly contribution of £10 secures the future of a child. To sponsor a child to complete their secondary education costs £600 annually, this means a monthly contribution of £50 provides an education so that they can then educate their communities.
The United Nations hopes to empower the poorest people around the world through education so they can lift their impoverished communities out of absolute poverty a goal shared by the Zainabiya child sponsorship program since its inception in 1981.  Please do support this work generously, after all the impact for these children is profound.
