Milad-un-Nabi celebrations at Az Zahra Association – Beruwala, Sri Lanka

Updated 14 April 2009

The members of Az Zahra Association in Beruwala celebrated the birth anniversary of our Holy Prophet (SAW) on 29 March 2009.  Competitions were held in Qirath, speech, and qaseedah in many of the Muslim schools.  The first, second and third place winners were given the opportunity to address the gathering with their speeches and qaseedah on the prophet.  The winners received cash prizes as well as gifts.

Previously, the association conducted gatherings where recitals and talks were delivered.  However, these competitions have been held since 2007 and will continue every year Inshallah.

The function was attended by a large group of parents, students, officials, and members of the association.
