A Student Reflects on her experiences of Madinah & Bab Short Course 2012

In the summer of 2012, The World Federation once again ran its renowned Madinah & Bab short courses in Iran. The courses attracted 60 participants, boys and girls, from across the world.

Sister Fizza Mukhtar of Sharjah Jamaat, UAE shares her experience of this momentous event:

“Alhamdulillah I was one of the lucky participants in The World Federation’s Madinah and Bab Summer Course in Iran. It definitely was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget, the wonderful people I met to the mind-blowing classes given by amazing lecturers, each one of them had their unique style in guiding us.

Every day we had new fun filled activities prepared for us like meeting scholars to swimming to discussions about the most random topics anyone could ever think of with our awesome mentors, I really couldn’t have asked for better.

My 2 favourite moments were praying behind Sayyid Khamenei and going to Masjid e Jamkaran on Tuesdays. While sitting in the haram we could feel ourselves attached to Allah and the Ahlulbayt where we could spend hours just pondering over things and doing ibadah like never before especially Jamkaran where we could actually sense the presence of Imam, May Allah hasten his zuhoor. Seeing so many Shias gathered from all over the world praying and bonding together as one community in the haram was the best sight one could ever see and the peace one could get is in no other place then the harams of our Ahlulbayt.

I feel that this trip was the best of the ziyarat trips I ever did and leaving Imam Raza and Bibi Masuma was the most difficult moment, I still miss them so much, I sincerely hope they call me near them again as it was a great privilege and I pray that Allah grants all Muslims like me this wonderful opportunity to visit these awe-inspiring spiritual personalities.

I would never be able to thank our mentors and organisers enough for their untiring efforts, selfless nature and cooperation, may Allah bless them.”
