Jaffer Dharamsi, a volunteer at the World Federation, recently visited the city of Bam in South Eastern Iran, the city that was devastated by an earthquake 17 months ago. He observed that most of the shops are operating out of containers; although life seems to be slowly returning to normality. He also talked to residents of the city who survived the ordeal, mentioning their harrowing experiences of the tragic disaster. The next phases in the rebuilding of all dwellings would take several years to accomplish.
Br Jaffer also had the opportunity to visit the site of the school that the World Federation is building. This project is scheduled to be completed in three months.
