Milton Keynes Madrasah Raise £3,500 for Aeinullah Eye Clinic in Sadr City
The students and teachers of Zainabiya Madrasah, Milton Keynes, UK raised a record sum of over £3,500 for the Aeinullah Eye Clinic in Sadr City. The money was raised at a charities day organised by the Madrasah on Sunday 1st May 2005.
Milton Keynes Madrasah have raised over £6,000 over the past three years for various causes highlighted by the Secretariat. The Charities Day is an annual event enshrined in the Calendar of the Madrasah and is part of the curriculum.
The IRE Co-ordinator of World Federation, Br Nisar Sherali commented, “Amongst the best practices of Madaris, Milton Keynes has a unique way of inculcating charitable values in our kids by organizing an annual charities day. Other Madaris may emulate such good practices so that our future generation is nurtured with the values of giving for the sake of HIS pleasure’.
This year’s function included performances by the children of the Madrasah in the form of nasheeds, speeches and plays.
