MAB and YND appeal for assistance in the form of Time or Money
The Medical Advisory Board (MAB) and The Youth Network Desk (YND) of the World Federation are working together to raise money for setting up the Aeinullah Eye Clinic in Sadr City, Iraq. The cost of setting up the Clinic is £40,000 having anticipated that after 6 months the clinic will be self-financing.
The need for this clinic is evident. Sadr City is one of the poorest regions in Iraq and moreover the vast majority of the population are Shia. Disease of the eye is the most widely spreading problem due to dirt, flies and dust, which are ever increasing. In turn, it is estimated that an astonishing proportion of the population have eye diseases, and therefore the Eye Clinic will aim to prevent the growth of blindness amongst the people.
The World Federation is already running Aeinullah Eye Clinics in Bangalore, Lucknow and Patna.
YND would like to urge all to come forward to volunteer. There is a need for co-ordinators and activists, from all over the world, who can liaise with YND and conduct activities in order to fundraise. If you would like to volunteer to raise funds, e-mail ynd@world-federation.org
