SURVIVING POVERTY IS TOUGH, LENDING A HELPING HAND ISN’T.
The month of Ramadhan is an opportunity given by Allah (SWT) to his servants to come close to Him, seek forgiveness for their sins and fulfilment of their needs. One of the many ways in which we can fulfil this purpose is to remember those who are in need. The Almighty loves those people who are selfless in their actions, are concerned about humanity and show consideration for others. Even uttering a Du’a for others has great merit and Imam As-Sadiq (as) has said:
“When a Muslim prays for his brother, (increase in) sustenance is given to him, afflictions are driven away, and the angels tell him, ‘You will also receive the same’.”
VOLUNTEERS WANTED
In the spirit of remembering those in need, The World Federation is once again launching its annual RAMADHAN RELIEF APPEAL to raise funds to provide food parcels, Iftaars, paying of debts and cash gifts to the underprivileged. Seeing the amazing difference dedicated volunteers continue to make year after year in the Ramadhan Relief Programme’s quest to fight hunger and poverty during the Holy month, The World Federation is looking for volunteers from around the world to help us raise funds and awareness in your communities. Without you, we simply cannot help the hungry and the deprived.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
You can support this Fund by holding various fundraising events, for example. Whether you are an individual, a family, a youth group, a Jamaat, a Madrasah, or a school, your support will alleviate the pains of thousands this Ramadhan, especially the orphans, seniors, widows and the disabled.
SUPPORTING YOU
The World Federation will provide you with a Volunteer Pack containing all the information and resources you will need to raise funds. In addition, if you live in Europe you can volunteer with CoEJ Relief and if you live in North American you can volunteer with NASIMCO Relief
Shan-E-Abbas Hassam, Assistant Secretary General for Relief & Economic Development stated: 'We are very keen to add to our volunteer base for this wonderful project. Ramadhan Relief is crucial to help Momineen around the world during the Holy Month. So many of our Momineen struggle to make ends meat and to provide a proper meal for their families for Iftaar. Let us help fight hunger in this month and help the deserving in whatever way. The World Federation strategy is help to clear debts, aide economic upliftment, provide food parcels and assisting in other areas for the deserving to make their life that little bit easier. Please do come forward and help us. With your support, we can help feed that extra person, clothe that extra orphan or provide basic medicines to that senior.'
