Perhaps one of the most breathtaking imageries of the Hajj is the scene of millions of pilgrims all dressed in white - the color of peace, standing shoulder to shoulder, moving formidably together as one entity around the Holy Ka’aba like a powerful and amplifying sea of worship. Differences between brothers and sisters are cast aside, status and position have no place here, and color and ethnicity matter not – all in the obedience of the one true God.
When I see this image, my heart yearns for that moment when this universal message of love and unity finds its roots in the heart of each and every human being on this earth. I imagine the infinite opportunities that could blossom from the union of energies of each and every individual who joins hands for the love of our Creator and the Ahlul Bayt (as) to work together for the betterment of our community. With hope and faith, I begin to vision the possibilities that can be achieved.
Our global community, today more than ever, is facing stern challenges. Whilst this is a difficult time, I am confident that we can overcome these trials by continuing to remember and live the very principles of every action we perform in the Hajj to nurture a legacy of unity, peace and love for the benefit of generations to come.
On this auspicious occasion of Eid al Hajj, I take this opportunity, on behalf of The World Federation to wish you and your families a joyous Eid Mubarak. Whether we are living in the East or in the West, let us today don our hearts with the love of Allah (swt) for the sake of harmony, friendship and peace of all of humanity. Let us all stand shoulder to shoulder to be a source of support for one another. Then, and only then can we, like the millions of people walking around the Holy Ka’aba, thank the Almighty for His infinite Blessings with every Blessing that He has bestowed upon us.
Eid Mubarak
