Following the Thirteenth Ordinary Conference of The World Federation of KSIMC, the President, Dr. Asghar Moledina accompanied by Regional leaders, councillors and delegates took this opportunity to visit community members in Zanzibar.
On 30 May 2011, the delegation met with Zanzibar’s First Vice President, Hon. Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad and the Second Vice President, Hon. Bulozi Seif Iddi to discuss the various activities of The World Federation in the field of humanitarian and relief work. Both the First and Second Vice Presidents expressed their appreciation of The World Federation and its projects and offered the full cooperation of the Zanzibar Government.
After the meeting, Dr. Moledina presented 200 desks to two schools in Zanzibar as a gift from The World Federation. 600 students will benefit from these desks where each desk seats three children. The World Federation is grateful to the Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Foundation for coming to the aid of so many children with their generous donation of these desks including transportation to Zanzibar. As well, The World Federation would like to thank Sibtain Meghjee for supervising the production of the desks and delivering them in record time. Up until now, many of the students in these two schools sat on the floor because there were not enough desks available for everyone. Dr. Moledina said: “One could see the joy and gratitude in the eyes of the children when we presented them with new desks.”
The delegation then met with both of The Africa Federations member Jamaats and their leaders, namely, Kuwwat Jamaat and Hujjat Jamaat. The President of Kuwwat Jamaat, Al-Haj Mohamedrazabhai Dharamsi hosted a lunch for the visitors. In the evening, after maghrib prayers, the entire delegation received a warm welcome from the President of Kuwwat Jamaat at the Kuwwat Masjid. Here, the delegates and community members had an opportunity to interact to discuss and seek positive outcomes to matters relevant to the community.
