The World Federation mourns the sad loss of Ayatullah Sayyid Mohammad Mehdi Dastghayb

Ayatullah Sayyid Mohammad Mehdi Dastghayb, former trustee of the shrine of Hazrat Ahmad ibn Musa Shah-Cheragh (RA) and brother of Shaheed-e Mihrab Martyr Ayatullah Sayyid Abdul Husayn Dastghayb passed away on 24th March, 2014. He was en-route to perform the ziyarat of Imam Ali (as) at Najaf al-Ashraf, Iraq when he suffered a heart attack.
 


Ayatullah Mehdi Dastghayb was born in 1924. He became the trustee of the shrine of Hazrat Shah-Cheragh (RA) in Shiraz in 1981 after receiving instructions from Ayatullah Imam Khomeini (RA) and held this position until 2013.

He was known for his level of spirituality (Irfan) and piety. He was a scholar who taught Dars-e Kharij of Usul and Fiqh for many years. He was a student of Ayatullah Khoei and received his spiritual training from the great Ayatullah Ali Qazi Tabatabai, Ayatullah Ansari Hamadani, and Ayatullah Hasan Ali Najabat.
 

He was buried at the shrine of Sayyid Mir Mohammed in Shiraz, Iran.
Mu’mineen are requested to remember him with Sura al-Fatiha.
