The Conference with a Difference – The Words of Vision
The 2006 World Federation Triennial Conference has an aim of creating a vision of excellence by exchanging global KSI experiences – and to facilitate this, we have handpicked nine words which summarise the Conference itself.

Unity
When all is in place, it brings about unity of purpose; purpose for which we have created this institution. A clear purpose brings clarity across the commUNITY |

Outcome
This conference will enable to focus on an outcome. It is not a talking shop but an opportunity to make a difference through these conversations. It is an opportunity to shape the direction of our community. We will need to make a difference and the outcome will be a community that is collectively sure where it wants to go |

Bridging
This is about converging ideas and thoughts to make things better. It is about creating space where I join the various thoughts on an issue and collectively decide the way forward. Good conversations lead to good bridging and this leads to enlightenment |

Networking
This is about making connections. The conference is about making connections with all. If I make the connection I make it happen. If I don’t make the connection, I don’t make it happen. Good networking enables good decisions and change within the community. Networking is creating space for exchange of ideas and exchange of thoughts. It is a unique opportunity to harness collective intelligence and shift the community |

Sharing
This is crucial, as it enables the community to deliver the key of change. When I share, I give a part of me. And who do I give that part of me: to my community. So I share my expertise for the betterment of the community. I share my resources for the betterment of the community. I share my thoughts for the betterment of my community. When I come to the conference I share my experiences of where I have come from to shape the direction of the output |

Diversity of thoughts
Enable good conversations and leads to better enlightenment. Diversity is a good thing. Diversity of thought challenges positions and enables shifts to take place |

Conversation
This is about a fundamental concept, that through conversations, I suspend my own thoughts and understand others. I then decide what I need to change in my thinking. Conversations challenge my thoughts and my ideas. It brings about those Eureka moments |

Enlightenment
This is the Eureka moment, when you see where the true change is needed. This is when you realise something new – that the change is not to be made there; it is to be made inside you. The attitude of “If I change then all changes” rings true |

Participation
Is about being there. I don’t have to be physically be there, since I can send my thoughts and opinions via text message and email. I can stay at home and send my comments – the community is being shaped, and I can be anywhere to influence it |
