Letter of 5 March 2006 from Electoral Commissioner to all members of The World Federation

Presidential Election for WF President 2006 - 2009

At the fourth meeting of the World Federation Executive Council held at Dar es Salaam on 18 February 2006, the appointment of the 2 members required as per the Standard Operating Procedure to form the Electoral Commission for the election of the President of the World Federation, was completed.  The Electoral Commission is now made up as follows:

Amir H Somji: Electoral Commissioner, Arusha
Dr. Anver R. Dhanji: Member,  London
Shabir R. Mamdani : Member,  London

According to the Standard Operating Procedure which was adopted at the 3rd Executive Council Meeting of the WF in Toronto Canada on the 26 March 2005, and which is available on the WF web site, a register of voters entitled to vote for the President of the World Federation of KSIMC is to be maintained by the Electoral Commission.

According to the clause 6.2 of the SOP which reads as under:

“As the relationship between the individual voter and the World Federation is via the member Federation or Jamaat, it will be the responsibility of the member to provide the list of ELIGIBLE voters and register them with the Electoral Commission”.

I am, therefore, requesting you to do the needful and have a register prepared.  The register will record the following details: Full name, address and date of birth. The eligible voter must be 18 at the time of voting.

I need to emphasize that only those who are members and have the right to vote at your own elections will be entitled to vote.

The register will be made available to the Commissioner no later than Friday the 12 May 2006.

The registered voters’ list originally provided to the commissioner by the member Federation or Jamaat will be the basis for those eligible to vote for the World Federation Presidential election.

I am counting on your cooperation. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

I will appreciate if you will acknowledge the receipt of this email, on the following address: electoralcommissioner@world-federation.org

The postal address of the Electoral Commission is the WF secretariat
