Salamun ‘Alaykum

The President of the World Federation Al Hajj Hasnainbhai Walji has asked me to lead a team to undertake the task of preparing a five-year strategic plan. This plan will determine the future direction of our community over the next decade. It will also help the WF to focus its energy, ensure that members of the organization are working toward the same goals, and to assess and adjust the organization's direction in response to a changing environment. It is essential for us to identify our resources and ensure that we are achieving its maximum utilization; and in particular the potential of the younger members of our community to serve and eventually prepare to take up the leadership role in the community.

To this end, I am in the process of forming a small working group, and wider regionally based teams, that will Inshallah work together to deliver this task.  The first objective will be to develop a methodology to be used to collect the information required to undertake this task.

This whole process requires consultation with, and input and involvement of the grass root members of the community. I therefore, appeal to every member of our community to come forward and contribute by way of your input at various stages in the preparation of this important document. Your input and participation will greatly enhance the diversity and depth of this exercise; and to define a global strategy for the enhancement of our Community.
