BMMK marks the occasions of the Wiladat of 8th Imam and Dahwul Ardh

Updated 5 January 2010

Similar to every year, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya (BMMK) had the opportunity to host an event to celebrate the birth of the 8th Imam, Imam Ali Ridha (as) and Dahwul Ardh, the spread of the earth.

The celebration was held on 14 November 2009 at the Bilal Hall.  People from different parts of the town, including different suburbs such as Kisauni, Likon, Mtwapa ad Mikindani arrived early, despite the heavy Mombasa traffic.  Several special guests also attended the occasion including Sheikh Abdilahi Nassir, Shariff Badawy and Murrabi Bashir Chando and BMMK representatives.

The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Sheikh Khalid Ahmed.  The first address based on Dahwul Ardh, was given by Sheikh Aidarus.  He enlightened the guests on the various merits of Dahwul Ardh through relevant versus from the Quran and traditions of the Holy Prophet.

The second address was given by visiting Maulana Sayyid Mohammad Matloob Abdi Najafi from India.  His speech was based on the birth of the 8th Imam, Imam Ali Ridha (as).

Students from Madrassa Amirul Muminin of Matuga recited a qasida to commemorate the event.
