He who has appointed himself a leader of the people must begin by teaching himself before teaching others. - Imam Ali (as)
On Saturday, 10th September 2011, participants from various careers and jamaats gathered in London to attend the MBTI course, run by the Capacity Building Team of CoEJ. The course focused on the application of the Myers Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI), a popular tool in identifying personality traits and profiles.
Participants were enlightened on the various characteristics and personality types highlighted by the MBTI and were able to identify their own profile, helping create a greater understanding and appreciation of both themselves and others.
Quotes from participants:
‘’The MBTI course held on Saturday 10th September 2011 is a prime example of the valuable work undertaken by the capacity building team, nurturing members of the community towards becoming effective team players. The small group setting was ideal, as the facilitators fostered a trusting environment in which participants could feel confident. I personally found I was able to explore my own personality and characteristics through this course, and feel I now know myself better as a result. I aim to translate what I gained from this day into enhanced team working at both a community and professional level. ‘’

‘’This one day seminar was a really refreshing take on what most of us go through in life when encountering different people and making various decisions in differing circumstances. It was a fantastically organised interactive short seminar that really got to the point and dove into a stimulating understanding of ourselves and how we react. My commendation to the Capacity Building Team for undertaking this and I eagerly await the follow-up to this one.’’
