IEB appeals for funds during the month of Muharram

During the month of Muharram, the World Federation has opened the following funds specifically to give you the opportunity to donate to the funds of your choice so that you may take part in this noble cause to help spread the message of Imams (AS) loud and clear.  As you recall the journey of Imam Hussein (AS) from Medina for Amr bil Maroof and Nahi anil Munkar, please consider propagating his message by contributing to the funds below:

IEB - Aalim Fund
Currently IEB provides Alim Grant support to more than 15 Jamaats world-wide. This enables the smaller Jamaats to have the services of capable resident Alims to meet the spiritual needs of our communities. A community with the best centre without an Alim is a body without a soul. IEB is committed to sustainable investment in our Ulama to develop the souls of our members. Every year, IEB also provides additional support to Jamaats world-wide to cover the cost of Ulama and Zakireen delivering majalis and lectures in the months of Muharram, Safar and Ramadhan. IEB has a bank of Zakireen who Jamaats invite and some apply for such grants which are required for these occassions. The grant covers the cost of air fares and hadya of the Alim assigned for the noble cause. Your donations towards these causes will please the soul of the Shuhada and the Leader of the Martyrs Imam Husein (AS). Your contributions will also go a long way to prepare the community towards the reappearance of Imam Zamana (AS) through the guidance of such Ulama. IEB can only continue to provide support to more Jamaats with the help of donations from Mumineen.

IEB - Hawza Sponsorship Fund
The World Federation has signed two major agreements with the leading Hawza institutions in Qum for boys (the International Centre for Islamic Studies) and for girls (Jamia al-Zahra), with the IEB Qum Office being responsible for the implementation of the agreements. Bearing in mind the different lengths of time that students can spend at the Hawza as well as the various needs of members of the community, the IEB can for the first time sponsor students for a range of Hawza courses under the agreements. Donations made to the Hawza Sponsorship Fund will be utilised for this purpose. The courses on offer and the costs of sponsoring one student for any of them are detailed below: Cost of sponsoring a boy or a girl for a 5 year BA course is £1000 per year per student Cost of Sponsoring a girl for a one year course is £1000 per student for the year Cost of Sponsoring a boy or a girl for a six month course is £800 per student for the course Cost of Sponsoring a boy or a girl for a one month course is £200 per student for the course Your donations towards these will go a long way in ensuring our community produces our own scholars as per the teachings of the Holy Quran.

IEB - Hawza Students Fund (Tullab Fund)
For many years, the World Federation has supported Hawza students in Qum. However, this support is very limited due to the sheer number of students who require assistance and the insufficient resources available. In line with its commitment to religious education and Tableegh, the WF has established an IEB Office in Qum, with one of its main objectives to assist students of the Hawza during the course of their studies so that they can study well and ultimately serve their communities effectively. Donations made to the Tullab Fund will be used for the “shahriya” (the monthly stipend given to the students for their living expenses), the recently established book allowance and for special needs of the students. We need your donations to be able to sustain the support to more than a 1000 students in the seminary in Qum. The stipends are categorised and vary from £3.00 a month to £15.00 a month (or US$5 a month to US$25 a month). Your donations will also assist us in providing special support to the talented and outstanding students. You will share the sawaab of investing in a future Alim by contributing to this fund.

IEB - Madrasah Fund
In the tripartite relation between the student, the home and the madrasah, the latter plays an important role in preparing our children for the here and the hereafter. Hence the madrasah has to be equipped with a curriculum that addresses the needs of the student in the present day. Imam Ali (AS) said: "Raise your children differently from the way you were raised, as they will live in different times." While the message has remained the same, times have changed and with it the delivery of the message has undergone a pradigm shift. To prepare our muallims to meet the challenges of the present day classroom, IEB has undertaken various innovative tasks such as the on-line madrasah teacher training and other projects which need your prayers and financial support to succeed. Moves are afoot to bring in line the madaris in India and Pakistan to join with the institutions in East Africa, Dubai, Europe and North America, so that eventually we achieve a global curriculum and administrative practices for our madris. The goal is to strive for excellence in the Islamic studies in our institutions. The beneficiaries will be our children InshAllah.

IEB - Publications Fund
IEB Publications Fund The current era we are living in is one of great interest in Islam - both within our own Shia community and also for those who do not follow our traditions. All want to have a better and accurate understanding of our beliefs and practices. The Publication department of the IEB has taken up the challenge to provide originally written and accurately translated literature (from Arabic and Farsi) into the English language for the spiritual upliftment of our community on the whole and the greater circle of humanity in general. The Islamic Education Board has over 15 publications planned per year for the next 3 to 5 years, which InshAllah, through your generous support, will be realized. You will be aiding in a better understanding of our religion and traditions within our own community and also help others who look to the World Federation for spiritual guidance.

IEB - Tableegh Fund
Imagine earning sawaab-e-jaari for the spreading of Islam. The Islamic Education Board (IEB) has organised its Tableegh department into the Internal Tableegh, External Tableegh, Islamic Religious Education and Publications departments. Currently, the external tableegh department is undertaking Islamic outreach in areas including Bosnia, Qum and Sindh; promoting Islamic awareness through radio broadcasts; and publishing and distributing important religious texts. The ever-expanding quran.org.uk site continues to draw significant online traffic. www.iebradio.org will be online shortly with our daily radio programmes to the wider communities for external tableegh. IEB Internal Tableegh organizes numerous courses across the globe, from madrasah teacher training to camps in Iran. Future projects include the development of a support system for students wishing to study at the Hawza, and accreditation for madrasah teachers.

The success of the following activities can only be achieved by your generous contributions.
