The World Federation and The Council of European Jamaats successfully hosts a CPD September 22nd – 23rd 2012. The World Federation and The Council of European Jamaats hosted a Continuous Personal Development course on the topic of Quranic Sciences in Harben House, Milton Keynes.
The course was conducted by Shaykh Abbas Jaffer and Dr. Masuma Jaffer, both of whom together have authored a book on the subject matter. The book is currently used as a course text book at the Islamic College where they both also teach the subject.

Given their expertise on the topic, as well as their longstanding experience teaching the subject, they effectively managed to introduce the topic in a holistic and thought provoking way to the participants.
“The course provided a stepping stone in the path of acquiring knowledge in the field of Quran/Quranic Sciences. It has motivated me to delve deeper in the subject in order to share the interesting subject matter with everyone” - Shahidali Khaki
The course was attended by a total of twelve participants. As usual the format of the CPD allowed participants to engage with each other as well as the tutors in a way that allowed for valuable interaction, adding much value to the learning experience.

With a thorough foundation in the subject matter, the tutors managed to convey the key issues surrounding the different topics and dealt with many misconceptions and disagreements surrounding the individual topics.
“The Qur’anic Science CPD course was an amazing experience. We were introduced to the many aspects of Quranic Sciences some of which I had not heard of before. It was an eye opener and it felt as if the Qur’an was no longer just a book to read but a book that was alive. It has so many wonders that we have not yet realised. Alhamdulillah, this course was a great one and Insha’Allah, with the help of Allah (SWT), we’ll be able to learn more and realise the true essence of the Qur’an.” – Fatemazahra Khaki
“I found the Quran’ic Sciences CPD course hugely beneficial, informative and inspiring. I’m looking forward to attending the next course Insha’Allah.” – Shalina Chandoo
Razahusein Rahim, the chairman of CoEJ ICA, stated: “This was a well subscribed course and had we not had cancellation of four applicants we would have been fully subscribed. The feedback above indicates that those who do participate in such CPD courses find it very useful. We still get complaints that some participants were not aware at an early stage about these courses & we urge all member jamaats to give prominence to the circulation of information relating to such programmes to all their members. We specially thank Shaykh Abbas Jaffer for his efforts on conducting this CPD so well .This is a good example of joint working between Islamic Education of the World Federation & The Council of European Jamaats.”

Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi, Assistant Secretary General for Islamic Education, said: “By the grace of Allah (SWT) another CPD has been successfully completed. The topic of Quranic Sciences was well-received and added a lot of value to the participants. Our CPD’s are continuing to have a positive impact on the participants.
