On Wednesday, 13 November 2013 -  on the eve of Ashura, members of Mwanza Bilal Branch joined all Muslims of the world in commemorating the tragedy of Karbala and paid allegiance to Seyedush Shohadah, Imam Hussein (AS) and to the 72 martyrs of Karbala by donating 100 units of blood to the National Blood Bank of the Lake Zone.

The Blood Donation on the eve of Ashura was organized at Mwanza Bilal branch and the response was very good. Total of 250 people who had attended the Ashura program, 111 registered for the blood donation. 100 donors were allowed to donate and 11 did not qualify to donate due to different health reasons.

We are thankful to the blood donors for their nobility and for giving their blood in the memory of the Martyrs of Karbala to help fellow human beings to save life. We sincerely thank the professional team for the National Blood Bank (Damu Salama – Tanzania) of the Lake Zone for carrying out this exercise successfully.

Our sincere thanks go to all the well wishers, donors and volunteers who through their various contributions enabled us accomplish this activity successfully.

May ALLAH (SWT) reward all of them abundantly here and hereafter.
