CoEJ ICA Mubaligheen Conference 2012

The ICA annual Mubaligheen Conference was held on Sunday 16th December 2012 at the Hyderi Islamic Centre - South London.

The theme was relevance of Kerbala in the present day and introducing this theme the Chairman of ICA Br Razahusein Rahim emphasised its importance.

The Vice president of the WF Br Munawer Rattanseyalso addressed the delegates.

The theme was split into 4 main topics:
1. Duties of Mubaligheen when delivering the message of Imam Hussayn (A.S )  by Hujatul Islam Maulana Zaffer Abbas
2. Projecting the Message of Kerbala to the Youths by Zakira Naseem Pimohamed
3. Reaching out to Humanity at large with message of Kerbala By Hujatuil Islam Sayed Mohammed Musawi
4. Relevance of Kerbala to the present Era By Hujatul Islam Saeed Bahmanpour.

Some of the quotes from the leading speakers included:
"Kerbala is a message that is meta historic and meat cultural and should be presented as such".
" It is the duty of the whole shia community to participate in delivering the message to humanity at large".
" Kerbala connects with human feelings and heart".
"the conveyor  of the message should realise that this message came through the infallible Maasums  and we should strive to elevate our characters  striving to be like them when delivering this message".

    
Following this there were group discussions by delegates on the four strands of the theme.

The evening session focused on current topical issues affecting Mubaligheen which was facilitated By Sheikh Fazleabbas Datoo  assisted by youths from Wessex Jamaat. The final session was led by Taki Jaffer on the topic 'Is safeguarding an issue for Mubaligheen?'.

Overall the seminar was successful and there was a number of positive feedback received from the delegates.

• "Current Issues to be shared with the wider community, including people who are able to make changes"
