The Jamaats in East Africa hosted the visit by the President of The World Federation, Dr. Asgharali Moledina. He was on an official visit to East Africa from 16 to 28 November 2010. The trip took him to Nairobi, Kampala, Bukoba, Mwanza, Moshi, Arusha, Dar es Salaam and Mombasa Jamaats before flying out to London, UK.
During the visits to the Jamaats, the Bilal Muslim Mission Centres and Institutions operating under the Jamaats, Dr. Moledina held meetings and discussions with the Jamaat Officials, Board Members & individuals covering various areas of importance, including health, education, Tabligh, economic empowerment, and housing development. He took keen interest to understand more about the current challenges experienced by the community in the social and the economic sectors.
Dr. Moledina promised that great focus will be on Africa, and The World Federation will continue to work closely with the Africa Federation in assisting community members.
The WF President was pleased to witness some good progress made in several Jamaats in East Africa, and was impressed with the efforts of the Housing Development Schemes being undertaken by Dar es Salaam Jamaat, and similarly in Arusha and Nairobi Jamaats where they are in the process of developing the Housing Schemes for community members. He was also impressed seeing the improvements at Ebrahim Haji Ithna-Asheri Charitable Health Centre of Dar es Salaam Jamaat.
