Wessex Jamaat undertakes Muharram Feedback Survey of its members
Updated 16 February 2011
Wessex Jamaat undertook its first ever free on-line survey of its members on the Muharram 1432 AH programme. The purpose of this survey was to get feedback on the programme and get ideas on what to do better next year. The survey was designed using a free on line service. The questions were approved by the Executive Committee and the link to the survey was sent by email to all 290 members on our email distribution list. It was followed by 3 reminders.
Forty seven people responded to the survey giving us a response rate of about 16%. The questions that were asked included: 1. The Muharram programme was well organised. 89% of those who completed the survey agreed with this statement. 2. Parking at the centre was well organised. 85% of those who completed the survey agreed with this statement. 3. Timings of the programme were adhered to. 70% of those who completed the survey agreed with this statement. 4. The lectures were informative. 67% of those who completed the survey agreed with this statement.
The survey also asked for qualitative feedback on 1. quality of the audio-visual 2. what went well this year 3. what ONE improvement they would like to see next year
We also asked the age groups of the respondents and found it most informative as it generally represented the demographics of our community.

Abbas Rahim, Hon Secretary of Wessex Jamaat said: “Alhamdulillah, this survey was most beneficial for us. It was the first of its kind in our Jamaat and it gave us information from the users of our service as to what they thought of it. Previously, we would have relied on ad-hoc feedback from people and would not have the opportunity to hear from a cross-section of our community. We have also learned how to undertake such surveys. The Executive Committee is now studying the results and then implement viable improvements for next year, inshallah.”
