Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities around the world take great joy in supporting their students in acquiring knowledge, information and skills to further their education, and this year, our communities in Australia did just that.
Recently, students from within our Centres in Australia participated in the Higher School Certificate (HSC) Exam. This exam is held for residents of the state of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and is comparable to the A Levels Exam in the United Kingdom which gives entry into Universities. Similarly, in the Australian state of Victoria, this exam is referred to as the VCE.
By the Grace of the Almighty, the marks earned by these students have put them at the very top of the overall results achieved:
- Whilst scoring 100 would mean first place, anything above 99 would put the students among the top 500 in the state
- Four students from within the Sydney and Melbourne Jamaats obtained scores ranging from 91.45 to 99.2 out of 100
- The student who scored 99.2 received an award from the Premier of New South Wales
It is indeed inspiring to note that whilst each of these students achieved high results on this exam, their participation in their respective communities was ongoing. They are fine examples of how one can maintain their faith and do well academically.
Congratulations to all four of the students.
