BMMK celebrates Eid al-Ghadeer & Eid al-Mubahila

Updated 26 January 2010

‘I am master of those whose master is Ali.  O God, be with those who are with him.   Be an enemy to those who are his enemies.  Help those who help him.  And leave those who leave him.’ – Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw)

Celebrations to commemorate two very significant events in the history of Islam took place at Bilal Hall on 12 December 2009.  The events drew several mumineen from various communities.

The programme began with recitation of The Holy Quran by Mulla Sajjad, followed by the recitation of a beautiful Qasida by the students of Madrasa Amir ul Mumineen, Matuga.

Sharriff Aidarus Mzee Mwenye from Lamu Coast delivered an address about the selection of the successor of the Holy Prophet (saw) that profoundly awakened members of the audience.  He also provided relevant proofs that the Prophets and Imams were appointed by Allah.

Sheikh mentioned that several times throughout his life, the Prophet indicated who is successor would be.  Eid al-Mubahila was one of these instances.  Using apt examples from everyday life and suitable anecdotes, he captured his audience’s attention for over an hour.

At the close of the programme, Brother Iddy Kumbuk umbu delivered the vote of thanks, which was followed by dua and ziyarah, by Ustadh Uthman Swabir and Brother Abdulrazaq Abdillahi Nassir, respectively.
