WF Qum Office holds Azadari programme in Gujarati on 10th day after Ashura

Updated 19 December 2012

The World Federation’s Qum Office gathered at Dar al-Zahra (sa) to commemorate the ‘dasmu’ majlis. The speaker was Shaykh Kumail Rajani, Manager of The World Federation’s Qum Office, who delivered an eloquent speech in Gujarati.

Shaykh Kumail enlightened the audience about the Qur’anic and Hadith descriptions of ‘life’, and what ‘true life’ was according to Islamic sources. He mentioned that according to one classification, there are three types of life for a human being:

1. Physical life when a person or animal is born or when a plant springs to life; this is a gift from Allah
2. The actual and real life; this is when someone answers the call of Allah and His Prophet as mentioned in Qur’an (8:24):
O you who believe! Respond to the call of Allah and the Prophet, whenever He calls you to that which will give you life …
3.  The eternal pleasant life; this is gifted to those who make a good investment in their lives in the Hereafter

Shaykh Kumail described servitude as the best method to gain the benefits of the Afterlife, and that this was the very reason for the creation of the human being. He described how real servitude must be accompanied by performing all one’s duties towards Allah, to one’s self, to other human beings, and to the rest of nature.
