Training

Continuous Professional Development Program
As part of Staff Development Program, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya had two opportunities whereby staff from BMMK Secretariat attended different workshop in order to broaden their knowledge, skills and develop their personal qualities required to meet up with the challenges faced in the world today.

Leadership Development Program
Two participants from BMMK had the opportunity to attend the Leadership Development Program organized by Africa Federation of KSI Jamats in Mombasa.  The seminar was held at Jaffery Institute of Professional Studies, Mombasa from 20th -22nd, May 2011.

Training for Economic Upliftment
In continuation of the Training Programme for Economic Upliftment Module II Training for six days was conducted at Mwasafu from 16th May 2011-21st May 2011 and at Masongaleni 30th May 2011- 4th June 2011.

Sayyidah Fatimatuz Zahra (A.S) /Sayyidah Zaynab (A.S) Day
In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the two great ladies a grand celebration was organized by Zahra Women’s Group of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya.

Update on the Construction of Masjid Imam Baqir, 4 New Classrooms, Muallim House and Common PIT Latrine

Chengoni Water Project
Several attempts have been made to ensure people residing in that area have supply to safe drinking water but all have failed. The people were beginning losing hope and thought that they would be destine to travel long distances to fetch water. Their last option was an 8 KM pipe from the Main Water Supply. Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya intervened to ensure that the villagers are assisted with this project.

Report on Feed a Child Scheme
The Mission in the year 2010 introduced a “Feed a child Scheme” for the BMMK Pre-Primary and Madrasah students in order to provide the under nourished children with a healthy supplement and at the same time promote education.

Relief Food Distribution Programme
Following the soaring prices of basic commodities in Kenya coupled with crop failure, many families have had tough time putting bread on their tables. In response to this adverse situation Bilal Muslim Mission has been distributing food to all its 15 centres located deep in the rural areas.

Visits

Terence Ward Visits
Mr Terence Ward an Education Advisor from UK visited the rural centers of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya from the 5th of June 2011 to the 12th June 2011. During his stay he visited 12 centers of the Mission in the rural areas and conducted the Baseline School Assessment Program which helps school managements to understand the critical areas of focus required for the individual school with view and take the school to higher level.

Comfort Aid International CEO Visits BMMK
With the aim to empower the less fortunate people in the rural areas, the Mission has joined hands with several institutions who work towards this cause.

Lectures

Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir’s monthly lectures
The program attracts a good number of participants who have made it a tradition to obtain knowledge, wisdom and spiritual up-gradation through these series of informative speeches.
