This Ramadhan, as many as 220 people in Bosnia benefitted from the Ramadhan Relief Fund. The Shia Muslim community in Bosnia includes many reverts and young couples with small children. Whilst some of these individuals are working, others are in school or unemployed. Those who are working are mainly in the farming sector. Regardless, incomes and salaries are often insufficient to meet the household expenses.
The Ramadhan Relief Fund provided:
• 8 community iftaars for up to 100 people per iftaar
• 20 food parcels – one of these parcels was gifted to a family who has 2 disabled sons and are struggling on a low income
• 3 cash gifts to 3 families
• 4 families with debt relief
• Assistance to 1 family of 12 people to fix the roof, windows and door of their house. Both the husband and the wife are unemployed and their children were forced to beg on the streets.

Each food parcel consisted of food rations and hygiene products to last a family of 4 for one month:
• 10 kg flour
• 3 kg rice
• 5 litre cooking oil
• 5 kg sugar
• 1 kg macaroni
• 1 kg pasta
• 1 kg condiment
• 1 kg salt
• 1 litre shampoo, 4 soaps for body washing, 2 soaps for cloths washing, 2 litre liquid detergent for dish washing
