Millions of Tanzanians are affected, as the famine crisis worsens in East Africa.
The Tanzanian authorities are imposing severe electricity rationing, to save the remaining water in its hydroelectric dams.
The Head of The World Federation’s partner in Tanzania stressed the importance of the continuation of The World Federation’s relief program in East Africa.
This Ramadhan, The World Federation supported Ramadhan Relief efforts through Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania. Through the Mission’s branch in Mwanza, daily programs were held to recite the Holy Quran which was complete twice over the last month. As well, Shiekh Hashim Ramadhani conducted a session on jurisprudal issues pertaining to the month of Ramadhan followed by question and answers.
Apart from the daily Tabligh program, the Ramadhan Relief program reached out to Muslims living in the suburbs in villages across Karutanga, Ishamba, Singida and Mwanza.

The Ramadhan Relief program in Tanzania was met with a sigh of relief, and our continued support to many thousands of people across Tanzania has created happy memories for struggling families.
Kaniz Bhimani, The World Federation’s Relief Manager said, “Ramadhan Relief has been hugely helpful to thousands across Tanzania and we must thank our donors for making this possible. However, East Africa as a region faces the worst drought in 60 years and we must continue our work in the region.”
