Hanna Tejani hopes to be able to help other families so that they can enjoy Iftaar in the month of Ramadhan like we do in our homes.
Meet 11 year old Hanna Tejani of Hertfordshire, UK. This September, she will be starting secondary school.
Hanna heard about The World Federation’s Ramadhan Relief Program and the JustGiving campaign and was inspired to join the other children in their goal to provide food for hungry kids. She told us: ‘My dad told my sister and I about this program after reading about it on The World Federation newswire.”
She added, “After reading about the suffering of people, I wanted to do something small to help and make a difference.”
Hanna is a philanthropist at heart. She has participated in other fundraising initiatives such as the Stanmore Madressa Walk for Water (WOW) appeal to build wells in Tanzania. She also raised money for Barnados and Great Ormond Street Hospital at her school.
In her spare time, Hanna enjoys cycling, swimming, playing tennis and reading.
Hanna has a 7 year old sister, Saamia who is also fundraising for the Ramadhan Relief Fund.
We asked Hanna: What message would you like to give to children around the world who can make a difference like you are making?
Hanna answered: “Help others in any way you can because small things make a big difference when we all pull together.”
Hanna expressed: “I would like to thank The World Federation for setting this up and helping me appreciate the difficulties other children face all over the world. To the children we are fundraising for: You are in our thoughts and we remember you in our prayers and we shall do whatever we can to try and help you. “
