Last Ramadhan, thanks to the generous support of donors from around the world, The World Federation provided £208,975 GBP in aid to needy families, orphans, widows, seniors and the disabled across 17 countries. Together, we made a huge impact in the lives of thousands of Shia Muslims living in poverty.
After the food distribution in Bangladesh last year, our agent there reported: “There are many families who shed tears of happiness. One young widow who lost her husband and only son in the June 2010 fire incident was weeping like a child. Many old widows wept because theirs sons and daughters are not supporting them and they live their lives on charity.”
This year, The World Federation has begun work to provide Ramadhan Relief across 12 countries: Bangladesh, Bosnia, Haiti, India, Iraq, Kenya, Madagascar, Myan Mar, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Tanzania. Iftaar Baskets are being prepared for delivery to families in time for Ramadhan.
For only £15 GBP / $24 USD / $24 CAD, you can provide an Iftaar Basket to a family this Ramadhan. Each Iftaar Basket includes a mix of rice, lentils, sugar, flour, wheat, oil, salt, tea and dates and feeds a family of 4 for one entire month.
The Ramadhan Relief Fund echoes the hope people in need share with people who care.
