For over 35 years now, The World Federation has been working in the area of poverty alleviation to help bring respite to countless families living in hardship both within the Khoja Shia Community and outside. The heart-warming stories from individuals and families who have benefitted from these efforts give us the resolve and determination to enhance and increase this work.
 
Poverty is not a hopeless picture – we have seen for ourselves the difference we can make as a global community in the lives of so many men, women and children who have been able to walk away from the grips of poverty only because they were given an opportunity to build a more promising future either through food parcels, debt alleviation or even a simple helping hand.  Year after year with your support and your contribution, The World Federation’s Ramadhan Relief Fund has been bringing comfort and peace of mind to thousands upon thousands of Shia Muslims living in absolute poverty.
 
The Ramadhan Relief Program is The World Federation’s leading campaign that aims to alleviate hunger and poverty during the Blessed month of Ramadhan. By providing families, orphans, children, seniors, widows and the disabled with support such as food ration baskets, medicine and debt relief – our hope is to ease their financial burdens for the month of Ramadhan so that they too can fast and worship with some peace. 

The Ramadhan Relief Report enclosed from last year (2012 / 1433) gives a great snapshot of the work that was undertaken. Last Ramadhan, we raised and distributed $654,000 USD in aid to the deserving - the most amount of aid for Ramadhan Relief in the history of our organisation.  This is an incredible achievement and it’s all because so many of you cared to make a difference.  The Ramadhan Relief Report is a testimony of what we can achieve together.
 
In April 2013, we began preparing for this year’s Ramadhan Relief Program (2013/1434). We are counting on the community's support once again as this year we hope to raise $700,000 USD. The deserving families who received aid last year were tremendously heartened by your generosity. Let’s continue to work together to bring joy in the hearts of these and other deserving families.
