EID AL FITR 1432: A Message from the President of The World Federation of KSIMC

Updated 29 August 2011

In His Name, the all-Beneficent, the all-Merciful.
All Praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds
Peace and blessing be upon Muhammad (S) and the family of Muhammad (S)

It is said that the Holy Prophet (S) used to come out of his home on the day of Eid reciting the Takbir and glorifying Allah (SWT). The significance of Eid al Fitr is entirely spiritual as we express our deep appreciation to the Almighty for having given us the opportunity, the resolve and the strength to venerate Him all through the month of Ramadhan. At the same time, our hearts are filled with emptiness and sorrow as we part with the greatest month of Allah.

Imam Ali Zainul Abedeen (AS) said:  ‘O Allah! Bless us in the day of our Eid and our fast breaking and let it be the best day that has passed over us.’ With these inspiring words, we send our heartiest congratulations to Imam-e-Zamana (AS) on this day of Eid al Fitr. As well, I take this occasion to extend our warm wishes to all Mo’mineen around the world for a joyous and blessed Eid.

Celebrating Eid unites Muslims living in all corners of the globe. As we join our brothers and sisters in Eid Salaat, and visit our families, let us remember those who are no longer with us with the recitation of Sura al-Fatiha.

Let us also remember those who are living in poverty, oppression and adversity. The month of Ramadhan advocates the spirit of remembering those who are underprivileged and upholds a culture of giving to renew hope in the hearts of believers. Over this past month, our community members have generously responded to the needs of thousands of families living in hardship. I extend my most sincere gratitude to each one of you who contributed to this year’s Ramadhan Relief Fund where we touched the lives of over 128,000 people in 12 countries. I would especially like to thank all of the children who joined our Ramadhan campaign by raising awareness and donations in aid of so many hungry kids. Masha’Allah, they raised over $12,000 USD collectively for the Ramadhan Relief Fund.

This Ramadhan, the world focused its humanitarian aid endeavors in East Africa, where famine and drought are threatening the lives of millions of people. Insha’Allah, immediately after Eid, I intend to visit the region with a delegation from The Africa Federation to see the progress of our aid efforts. I invite our community members like you to join me on this mission.

The World Federation community enjoyed an astounding Ramadhan that has left us spiritually uplifted and inspired. To help us realise our organisational vision, we are determined to continue our work as charted out in our Action Plan presented at the May 2011 Conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Initiatives such as addressing poverty issues in Africa and assisting our global Madaris are in progress.

On this blessed day of Eid, may each one of us be given glad tidings of Mercy and forgiveness from the Almighty. May He accept our every effort and give us the tawfeeq to serve Him with sincerity and intent in the hopes that in His eyes we may attain nearness to Him.  Ameen.  Let us pray for the safety of our Ulema, for peace and justice to prevail in these troubled times, and for the hastened reappearance of our awaited al-Mahdi (AS).

With Salaams and Du’as,
Dr. Asgharali Moledina
President, The World Federation of KSIMC
