As previously announced, The World Federation of KSIMC Second Executive Council Meeting was held on Saturday 27 February 2010 at the Hyderi Imambara, South London. Click here to view the Notice of Meeting and Agenda.
The meeting was well attended including Councillors from Africa Federation, The Council of European Jamaats, Dubai and NASIMCO. In addition, some of the Elected and Appointed Councillors were also present as was the President of The Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaats of Pakistan.
Following recitation of Quran and welcome messages, the meeting commenced with a review of the minutes of EXCO 1 and matters arising there from.
Following President Asgharali Moledina’s address, several items were discussed.
Shaykh Abbas Ismail presented an update on the Mubaligheen Training Programme (MTP), together with Dr Mahmood Abdulla. Click here to view the report. A discussion followed where councillors asked a number of questions which were answered by Shaykh Abbas, Dr Abdulla and the Office Bearers. A consensus emerged that there was a need to form a review team to look at a number of areas of the MTP including current student progress, new student recruitment, cost-cutting, publicity and engagement with grassroots.

Another item on the agenda was the discussion of the resolutions brought forward from Members on calling an Extraordinary Conference.
There was a tremendous amount of unity shown amongst the members and there was a positive attitude to move forward to an agreeable solution. The EXCO stressed that the work of The World Federation should continue and should not be hampered by the current political situation.
Extensive Deliberations took place and the Executive Council set the date for the Extraordinary Conference as 1 May 2010 to be held in Dar es Salaam as suggested by Africa Federation and agreed by all Councillors present there. Other venues were also put forward but it was felt that it would be easier for delegates to travel to Dar es Salaam. The Executive Council as required by The Constitution also set the Agenda for the Extraordinary Conference.
The EXCO has determined the agenda to be:
- Reflection and Recitation from the Holy Qur’an
- Welcome address by the Presidents of Dar es Salaam Jamaat and Africa Federation
- Address by The World Federation President, Dr Asgharali G K Moledina
- Resolution as approved by the Second Executive Council Meeting of the term 2009-2012 held on 27 February 2010 Quote “reconsidering all the business that was conducted at the Toronto conference, in particular the election of office bearers and Councillors and the electoral process and any matters arising thereof”.

Updates from The World Federation’s various departments were also presented. These included Communications & Marketing, Education, Family Affairs, Health, Islamic Education, Relief & Economic Development, NGO and ZCSS. Good deliberations and discussions on each of these area took place and included sessions of questions and answers.
