More than 3000 Patients were treated in a Free Eye Camp Organised by The World Federation

A free medical camp was organised by the Baltistan Doctor Forum with the help of Baltistan Welfare Organization at Skardu. The camp was held in Abdullah Hospital, DHQ Skardu and other peripheral villages like Sundus, Alchori, Shigar, Baghardu, Kachura, Ghwari.

Skardu is the main town of the region Baltistan and the capital of Skardu District, one of the districts making up Pakistan's Gilgit–Baltistan. Baltistan is the poorest area in the Northern Areas and this poverty is reflected in the extremely destitute lifestyles of most Balti people.

The World Federation donated towards 2 free medical camps that were held in different areas of Skardu in the month of June and July.

The first camp took place from the 19th to the 29th of June and all surgeries were performed at the Abdallah Hospital:

The second eye camp took place from the 4th – 9th of July. The camp treated a total of 350 patients in OPD. A total of 74 surgeries were performed out of which 52 were cataract surgeries.

For both the camps all surgical items/OT medicines were provided free to the patients.
