Dr. Gulamabbas Ramzanali Rajpar of Sweden was honoured and given a memorial plaque during Hajj 2009. This was his 25th Hajj serving the sick and needy.
He first joined The World Federation’s Hajj Medical Mission in 1984. Since then he has served in the mission every year. He has continued to come to hajj and serve even after The World Federation’s mission had wound up.
At the presentation ceremony, Maulana Amir Husein Naqvi of Birmingham said that Dr. Rajpar’s service is highly commendable and an example to follow for other doctors who come to hajj to serve the hujjaj. The 25th hajj is akin to Imam Husain (as) who perfumed hajj 25 times. He said that the hujjaj who come to perform hajj are Allah’s guests and those who serve them are like angels. The occasion to mark this happy event and to present him with the plaque was organised by his colleagues and fellow HMM members Mr. Azad Rajbhai, Dr. Mohamed-Taki Walji and Dr. Akbar Mithani.

Dr. Rajpar was born in Uganda in 1951 and settled in Sweden in 1972. He qualified as a doctor in 1982 and became a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1985.
