Mu’minah Seminars is comprised of three key members who organise events for women - specifically for girls between the age of 8 and 12.
The first session was a Baligha seminar where girls who are were baligha or were close to becoming baligha were invited to attend. Various speakers were invited to speak on topics such as hijab, salaat, social responsibilities and other issues that were related to the topic of becoming baligha. The group still tries to organise a baligha seminar every couple of years. However, the mandate of the group has shifted to empowering girls to be mu’minahs that shine and represent Islam beautifully.
The aim of the Mu’minah seminars is to provide Islamic knowledge to the girls to give them the tools to grow up as confident, proactive Muslim women who are comfortable ad proud of being who they are in a non-Muslim environment. The seminars consist of various knowledgeable and inspiring from various walks of life and learning about how they contribute to their community and make a difference.
Seminars are organised every 2-3 months with a wide range of Islamic topics, some of which include the 12th Imam (as), the Holy Prophet (SAW) and the benefits of the nights of Qadr in Mahe Ramadhan. Mother/daughter seminars that helps enhance this special relationship have also been organised.
