My dear brothers and sisters, who are fortunate enough to have been called to the House of Allah this year to perform their Hajj.
The year has passed and our community members are once again preparing to make the spiritual journey of their life time. While wishing them a safe and spiritually enriching Hajj let us remember the true significance of this wajibaat as guided by The Holy Quran.
The pilgrimage shall take place in the months appointed for it. And whoever undertakes the pilgrimage in those [months] shall, while on pilgrimage, abstain from lewd speech, from all wicked conduct, and from quarrelling; and whatever good you may do, God is aware of it. And make provision for yourselves - but, verily, the best of all provisions is God-consciousness: remain, then, conscious of Me, O you who are endowed with insight! (2:197)
We are the perpetual guests of Allah (SWA) and as our host HE provides all the comforts we enjoy in our lives.
But there are two occasions when we are HIS special guests - one is the Holy Month of Ramadhan
and the other is Hajj-e-Baytullah. The difference being Ramadhan is for all Muslims to enjoy the special
and intimate bounties of Allah (SWA);as for Hajj it is only a few million Muslims chosen every year to be
HIS special guests. Fortunate are those who have been invited by Allah (SWA) for this year’s Hajj.
The magnificent journey of the Hajj is not a ritual, but the human being’s evolution to Allah (swt). Imam Muhammad Baqir (as) describes the performers of Hajj as “the guests of Allah. If they ask, they will be given; if they pray, they will be answered; if they intercede, their intercession will be accepted; if they keep silent, they will be blessed; and they will be given a million dirham (multiple bounties) for each one that they have spent.”
Alhamdulillah I am informed that a significant number of mo'mineen from our global communities are converging in Mecca for this year’s pilgrimage. This is a great blessing and on behalf of The World Federation, I wish the mo'mineen a safe and inspiring journey.
On behalf of The World Federation, I would humbly request every hujjaj to remember the community, pray for its strength, unity ,sense of purpose, and above all in being the obedient servants of Allah (SWA).
May Allah (swt) grace us with His guidance and His strength. Ameen.
