Following the upheavals in Somalia in the 1990’s the then President of the Mogadishu Jamaat had appointed trustees to take care of and decide about the future of the Waqf/Trust Properties in Mogadishu and sell the saleable properties at the best available prices and the proceeds to be put in The Mogadishu Waqfiyat Fund for reinvestment.
In 2006, the Mogadishu Trustees entered into an agreement with The World Federation of KSIMC and Mogadishu Waqfiyat Fund Trust deed was signed that laid down the process where and how the funds in The Mogadishu Waqfiyat Fund can be utilized. In essence these will be invested by The World Federation in agreement with the members of the Mogadishu Waqfiyat trust. The net income derived there from will be perpetually utilized for the “same or similar purposes” for which “the Waqfs/Trusts” were originally established in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Due to the relative stability in Mogadishu and the rising property prices, the Trustees are now searching for potential buyers to purchase the various properties held under the Trust.
The Mogadishu Waqfiyat Trust comprises of the following members:
1. The President of the World Federation
2. The Treasures of the World federation
3. Br. Ashiq Rashid
4. Br. Hassanali Hussein Haji Muraj
5. Br. Mohamedraza Haji Ibrahim Okera
6. Br. Liakatali M. A. Datoo
7. Br. Hassanali Bhanji
8. Br. Raza A. Suleiman
We pray to Allah (SWT) to assist the Trustees in their noble endeavours to resume the establishment of properties that will present eternal rewards.
With salaams and duas.
