During a private visit to Singapore, on Saturday 17 December 2011, The President of The World Federation, Dr. Asghar Moledina took time to meet the members of the Khoja Shia Community as well as other Shia Communities.
The history of Shia Islam goes farther back than the First World War. The Rajabali Jumabhoy and the Namzie families were the first pioneers in Singapore and over the years many from India and the local community have grown into 1000+ members.
In addition to meeting members of The Jaffari Muslim Association in the presence Ameeralibhai Rajabalai Jumabhoy, their Founder President, the President also met Ali Husienbhai who heads the Sajjad Foundation, a Singapore-based philanthropic organization focused on Education, Charity and Global Citizenry.
He discussed with the community matters of mutual interest and briefed members on the Madresah programme which The World Federation has undertaken. Dr. Moledina was happy to note that the community runs a vibrant Islamic Education programme for the children.
