Re-appointment of ASG for Islamic Education for term 2011-2014

The World Federation of KSIMC would like to welcome back Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi to his current role as the Assistant Secretary General for Islamic Education for the term 2011-2014. 

Sayyid Aliraza Naqvi is the son of Marhum Sayyid Ansar Hussein Naqvi. Sayyid Aliraza was born in Dodoma, Tanzania.   Sayyid Naqvi currently resides in Birmingham, UK. He is married and has three 3 children. 

Sayyid Aliraza has an impressive educational background.  He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies and Arabic from Madrasah Sayed Al Khoei in Stanmore, which was established up by The World Federation under the tutelage of Marhum Mulla Asgher and Maulana Zafar Abbas. He studied further in Qum under the tutelage of Ayatullah Sayyid Ahmad Madadi and has obtained a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of Punjab.

Serving the community is in his blood and he has served on various boards at Jamaat level. A well-known Zakir, he travels worldwide to speak during Muharram and Safar. He has served as the Principal and as a lecturer at the Al Mahdi Institute in Birmingham, and is an Alumni of the Muslim Council of Britain's 2010 Leadership Development Programme, as well as the programme on Faith in Leadership 2009. He also serves as the principal of Muhammadi Madrasah of the KSIMC of Birmingham. 

Sayyid Naqvi’s interests include the Arabic language, Fiqh, and Spirituality. 

Since he took the role of ASG of Islamic Education in 2010, Sayyid Naqvi has been actively working with our various communities in India, Pakistan, Dubai, and East Africa, to assist in educating Shia communities, promoting Islamic Education, and to spread Tableegh in these areas.

Of worthy mention are the first World Federation Office established in India,rebuilding of Islamic centres in Pakistan, appointing Ulama to serve in these centres, and supporting efforts in AFTAB as well as Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya.

Sayyid Naqvi was an integral part of the planning and presentation of the Madressa Retreat held in February 2011. This resulted in the development of an action plan to enhance the institution of Madrasah.  For more information on the Madrasah Retreat view the report.
 
Sayyid Naqvi said: I thank Allah for the tawfeeq to be able to serve for another term, inshallah. My aim is to spread the efforts of Islamic Education to our communities throughout the world so that we, as a united community, can move forward on the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (as).”
